Round 10 Wrap

Five sides played out Round 10 today, the Women’s only side will not play again until after the Christmas break.

Four sides had a win today, sadly the six a side side wasn’t able to make it 5 from 5.

next week is the final round for 2017 and there’s will be some finger food available for everyone after the round next week.

Mid Season Wrap

Round 9 was played this week. It marks the 1/2 way point in Season 17-18 for the Mid Week Pennant competition.

After 9 Rounds (7 for the Womens Only side) there are three sides that are well placed to launch into the second 1/2 of the season.

The story so far...

Berwick 1 (Womens Only) are sitting in 4th position in a seven side field. They've Won 3 rounds and Lost 3 with each side having a bye (due to the diminished field). Cranbourne 1 are sitting on top of the ladder with only 1 loss so far. If the Ladies are to make finals this season they will need to post a minimum of 4 wins from the remaining 7 rounds.

Berwick 2 are in 3rd spot with a 6/3 record so far this season, they went down to Ladder Leaders Mulgrave Country Club this week. The 2's are in a good position to book a finals berth, and can make that more certain with 2 or 3 away wins during the second half of the season.

Berwick 3 are also sitting in 3rd spot with a 5/4 record. The section leaders Ashburton have a clear advantage though having only 1 loss so far. Berwick have had a couple of close losses and will need to reverse that form is they're going to play finals in March.

Berwick 4 have had a tough season so far with only 2 wins and 7 losses and find themselves in 9th spot and looking at possible relegation to Division 3. Berwick posted their 2nd win this week having lost 6 in a row and will need to build on this week's success to move out of danger in the next few weeks.

Berwick 5 have picked up 3 wins and 6 losses to sit in 7th on the Ladder. This has been an up and down season so far and the Sevens are not safe from relegation yet. They'll need at least 3 or 4 wins in the 2nd half to keep their spot in
Division 3.

Berwick 6 (6 a side) have had a strong 1st half of the season and are sitting in 2nd spot with a 5/3 record. The ladder leaders (Pakenham) have only dropped one game though, so there's a fair bit of difference between top spot and the rest. The next few weeks will be important for the 6's to consolidate and maybe lay claim to a home final.

So with the 2nd 1/2 of the season getting underway next week we're in a position for 3 (or maybe 4) possible sides to play finals, but a couple of sides are looking a bit shaky to avoid relegation.

Go Berwick. Lets post a strong 2nd half to Season 17-18.

Round 5 Wrap

The Tuesday sides bought home 2 wins this week. The Womens Only and Berwick 1 sides were both victorious, but sadly the remaining sides were all overcome by their opponents.
